Itacamba appoints new general manager

Votorantim Cimentos -owned Itacamba Cemento SA has appointed Marcelo Morales as its new general manager with effect from 1 January 2023. Mr Morales previously served for seven years as administration and finance manager at Itacamba. A Brazilian national with a Master’s of Business Administration degree, he has worked for more than 15 years in the cement industry.

Bolivia: President opens 2000tpd Itacamba plant

President Evo Morales of Bolivia opened the first integrated cement plant in Itacamba at the weekend, in the department of Santa Cruz. Following an investment of US$220m, the Itacamba Cimento SA 2000tpd cement plant in Yacuses has started commercial production to reduce the country's reliance on imports. The works will guarantee the supply of cement for projects in Santa Cruz and Beni, with plans to expand deliveries to Tarija. Gebr Pfeiffer provided a MPS 3750 B raw mill for this project....

Bolivia: Itacamba’s highest production figures

Bolivian cement producer Itacamba Cemento has reported its highest ever production figure of cement, reaching 20,006t in June 2016 and breaking its previous record of 18,764.65t reported in August 2007. The firm intends to begin production at its Yacuses plant towards in the second half of 2016. Clinker production at the plant should begin in November and cement production in December.

Bolivia to increase output in 2016

Bolivian cement firm Itacamba Cemento will continue to import cement from Brazil until the 2H16 when it expects to start up its new plant in Yacuses. The Bolivian producer it is currently importing large amounts of cement from Brazil with the aim of satisfying demand in Santa Cruz. Itacamba Cemento SA has awarded Gebr Pfeiffer Inc the contract for a raw mill which will be installed at the cement producer's new 2000tpd cement plant in the Bolivian municipality of Yacuces. Gebr Pfeiffer has been selected to supply the raw material grinding system using an MPS 3750 B mill as its key component.
